This week, we want to present one of the most recent works carried out at RS Motor. Our workshop has successfully completed a comprehensive engine overhaul on a MAN E2848LE322, one of the smaller engines that have gone through our workshop. It is a V8 engine with a displacement of 14.6 liters and a power of 265 kW at 1500 rpm, operating on natural gas.
ENGINE OVERHAUL FOR ALL OF COGENERATION ENGINES TYPES
On this occasion, the engine was sent by the customer to RS Motor’s facilities, where various maintenance and overhaul tasks were carried out to ensure its optimal operation. This process includes a series of exhaustive diagnostics and precise adjustments to ensure that all parts of the engine operate efficiently. It should be noted that RS Motor also offers the possibility of carrying out interventions directly at our customers’ plants or vessels, allowing downtime to be minimized and productivity to be maximized.
Recently, another MAN engine, an E2876 LE302 model, was repaired and serviced by RS Motor’s technical service at the customer’s facilities. This engine, which has a 6-cylinder in-line configuration, has a power range that varies between 130 and 220 kW, depending on its specific version and the operating mode selected. This flexibility in service demonstrates RS Motor’s commitment to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
ENGINE OVERHAUL AND MAINTENANCE PROCESS OF MAN E2876 COGENERATION ENGINE
The engine overhaul of the MAN E2848 LE322, carried out in our specialized workshop for gas and cogeneration engines, is detailed as follows: After disassembly, a thorough inspection of all engine components is carried out to rule out any faults that may compromise the reliability of the generator set.
The main repairs, replacements, or reconditioning that were carried out are as follows:
• Replacement of cylinder heads with exchange components
• Replacement of pistons
• Replacement of cylinder liners
• Replacement of connecting rod head bearings
• Replacement of connecting rod bolts
• Replacement of oil filters
• Inspection and reconditioning of the turbocharger at a specialized workshop
• Replacement of all gaskets and O-rings necessary for engine assembly
GENUINE AND/OR ORIGINAL SPARE PARTS AND REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR ENGINE OVERHAUL
It is worth noting that all the spare parts used are genuine and/or original MAN OEM parts, ensuring the quality of the assembly and guaranteeing the proper functioning of the unit. This reduces the risk of unforeseen breakdowns that could affect engine performance.
The maintenance carried out at our facilities was completed in a short period of time, thanks to the experience and coordination of the RS Motor team with extensive knowledge in this type of gas engines. This minimizes plant downtime due to maintenance and increases the productivity of our clients’ facilities.
