Jenbacher Series 6 motors are designed to output a power range of 2 to 4.5 MW. Its rotation at 1,500 rpm provides a high power density and low installation costs. Thanks to the coupling of pre-chamber tips in their cylinder heads, these engines achieve high efficiencies with low emissions. Its design and improved components allow a useful life of 60,000 hours of operation before the first general service or Overhaul. The J624 features advanced 2-stage turbocharger technology, which offers high electrical efficiency combined with improved flexibility in a wide range of environmental conditions. The first 24-cylinder gas engine released for commercial purposes was developed by Jenbacher. The Jenbacher J624 engine produces enough power to power 9,000 homes, representing a significant advance in gas engine technology.

The Jenbacher J624 engine is the first two-stage turbocharged gas engine, as a result of its engineering excellence. The Jenbacher J624 offers significant advantages that other groups of similar power cannot, particularly in the area of power plants with independent power generation.
There are 2 areas where Jenbacher J624 “twin-turbo” gas engines are installed: the first is cogeneration, and the second is in projects where multiple engines and CHPs are installed. This makes the Jenbacher J624 more economically viable than the same model with single stage supercharging.
